The regional ranking was done for Net Primary Production and
Rain Use Efficienct. All cells
in the map for a particular year are ranked from lowest to highest NPP (RUE).
Pixelwise trend analysis of the regional ranking then reveal pixels that have
increased or decreased NPP (RUE) vis-a-vis all other cells. The map
shows the trend of the regional ranking position for NPP 1982-2004.
Those areas that have greened up most
vis-a-vis other areas come out as more green.
