To identify the relative spatial vegetation dynamics a regional ranking system and a local (neighboring) difference analysis for spatial vegetation analysis were developed as part of the project. By analysing the regional and local differences problems stemming for errors in the satellite carried sensor (degradation, drift etc) are further avioded. The regional ranking was done for Net Primary Production and Rain Use Efficienct. All cells in the map for a particular year are ranked from lowest to highest NPP (RUE). Pixelwise trend analysis of the regional ranking then reveal pixels that have increased or decreased NPP (RUE) vis-a-vis all other cells.
