Rain Use Efficiency (RUE) is the ratio
of Net Primary Production over Rainfall:
NPP/rainfall
In drylands with varying rainfall RUE is a method to identify vegetation changes caused
by other factor than the direct effects of changes in rainfall.
NPP. NPP was calcualted as the accumulated increase in adjusted NDVI over an annual cycle
(36 dekad periods). Rainfall estimates are a combination of point-data and
saetllite data (for teh period 1995-2004).
