Vegetation growth and agricultural and pastoral production are
crucially important for the livelihood of the people in the Sahel.
For farmers and pasturalists, for building and constrrucion, and as
fuel wood.
In this screening study of the climate and vegetation in the Sahel, we
have used satellite data as a proxy for vegetation growth and production.
We can then arrive at images comparing rainfall and vegetation dynamics,
which will assist in finding better livelihood options.
